Granada’s onshore portfolio continues to expand with a busy start to 2021

The first two months of this year show continued growth for Granada’s onshore team, from design and manufacture through to installation and commissioning.

With contracts from existing and new customers, Granada’s most recent projects are across a broad range of sectors, demonstrating the company’s expertise in lifting and handling solutions.

Two 10 tonne overhead cranes and a free-standing gantry have been designed, manufactured, installed and commissioned for one of the country’s leading plant hire companies, while a 15 tonne version has been ordered for a turbine hall and a 10 tonne version has been installed for an industrial oven manufacturer.

Granada’s expertise in transport continues to be recognised with a project for a train factory, which involved a 2 tonne and 10 tonne overhead crane, with full synchronization and tandem control.

Granada’s comprehensive ranges of jib cranes are helping customers manage their plants with increased flexibility, including a world-leading gearbox manufacturer who has commissioned two cranes, and a timber saw mill where Granada have designed, manufactured and installed a 2 tonne jib and custom vacuum lifter.

As well as design and manufacture, Granada were contracted by a domestic boiler manufacturer to undertake the modernisation of the company’s handling systems. And, in addition to the many manufacturing and factory-based projects and customers, the start of 2021 saw Granada designing and installing a bespoke 15 tonne overhead gantry crane and hydraulics for a major new university research centre.

Richard Lewis, sales engineer at GMH, reflects,
“We are all still operating in uncertain times so it is very positive to note the excellent start that our onshore team have had in the first months of 2021. The breadth of sectors that continue to look to Granada for our expertise and the confidence they have – both existing customers and new ones – in our products and our team is a welcome testament to Granada’s engineering excellence. We look forward to continuing the year with some significant contract wins and new projects in the pipeline.”
