Where Webbing Slings Are The Right Choice

Webbing slings are the everyday workhorse of UK lifting — the most common sling on a typical industrial site. The flat belt format gives them a few specific advantages over round slings and chain.

Flat Surface Contact

The flat belt spreads pressure evenly across the load — better load stability for pallets, crates and rectangular workpieces than a round sling can give.

End-Fittings & Attachment Options

Sewn eyes, hooks, shackles and bespoke end-fittings can be specified at manufacture — useful when you need a direct attachment point on the sling itself.

Single-Use Available

For export packaging, hygiene-critical lifts or one-time installations, single-use webbing slings (250kg–1t) are an inexpensive consumable solution.

Round vs Webbing vs Chain

The three sling types overlap in capacity but suit very different jobs. Webbing slings are the standard choice for general industrial lifting where a flat, soft contact and optional end-fittings are useful:

LOLER, Certification & What’s Included

Slings are classified as lifting accessories under LOLER — that means they need a thorough examination by a competent person at least every 6 months, regardless of how often they’re used. Every sling we supply ships ready for that, with documentation that satisfies your auditor:

  • Test certificate — supplied with every sling, traceable serial number
  • Identification label — date of manufacture, serial number, safe working load
  • 6-monthly LOLER thorough examination — we do these on-site or you can post them in
  • Sling replacement service — when slings reach end-of-life, we replace and dispose of the old certified equipment correctly
  • Bespoke configurations — non-standard lengths, capacities or fittings via our local supplier network — usually 1–2 weeks
