Granada Cranes at NSCL Festival 2024

We are thrilled to announce that Granada Cranes will be attending the second National Skills and Careers (NSCL) Festival at the NEC, Birmingham, on 12-13 November 2024. This event is renowned as the UK’s largest national careers and skills event, and we are excited to be a part of it.

At Granada Cranes, our commitment to excellence in engineering and manufacturing is paralleled by our dedication to fostering the next generation of talent. As the country’s largest independent crane manufacturer, the continuous development of skilled electrical and mechanical service engineers is crucial to our success and growth.

The NSCL Festival provides a perfect platform for us to connect with about 25,000 young attendees, primarily from years 11, 12, and 13, who are eager to start their careers. Over 100 employers, training providers, colleges, and universities will be there, making it an ideal environment for networking and learning.

Why We Participate

Nigel Piggot, our esteemed Technical Training Engineer, explains the importance of this event: “Training young talent from scratch is essential for us to maintain our leadership in the crane manufacturing industry. We invest significantly in our training programs, equipping our facilities with state-of-the-art tools necessary for comprehensive learning in both electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines.”

Our apprenticeship program is a testament to this investment. Our apprentices are equipped with hands-on experience in wiring, servicing, and repairing cranes, alongside mechanical skills such as inspecting and replacing essential crane components. They conclude their training achieving a Level 3 NVQ in Mechatronics, fully prepared to excel in the field.

Looking Forward

The NSCL Festival is not just an event for us – it’s a strategic opportunity to showcase our commitment to innovation and education in engineering. It’s where we demonstrate our dedication to training the future pillars of our industry and discuss potential career paths with enthusiastic young minds.

We look forward to meeting students, educators, and fellow industry professionals to exchange ideas and explore collaborations that will drive the future of engineering and manufacturing in the UK.

Join us at the NEC Birmingham this November to discover more about Granada Cranes and how we are shaping the future of crane engineering through rigorous training and education. Let’s build the future together!
